Compax is run by Fred Topolnisky, a well-respected Electronic Technologist and Industrial Electrician with many years experience working in the mining and railway industries. He provides electrical repair and upgrades to all electronics. He is well trained in mining equipment like

Most recently he’s been focusing on minimizing downtime due to equipment failures on drills, shovels, and haul trucks. Over his career, formerly working with Cullen Diesel, he has serviced Elkview, Coal Mountain, Fording River, Greenhills, Highland valley, Line Creek, Copper Mountain, Endako, Mount Milligan, and he was grateful to work with their teams.
Fred is also well versed in the railway, and is able to repair all Inverter drives. Him and his team are WCB Approved, up to date on all necessary Insurances to gain access to the sites and available for travel with short notice!
Compax believes in hard work, integrity and safety.

Liam is an integral part of our team. He is a second year industrial electrical apprentice at Thompson Rivers University, and a highly motivated individual. Liam has extensive knowledge in operating heavy machinery as well as automotive electrical technology and repair. Liam has achieved his occupational level 3 first aid, and has experience with firefighting and first responders. Liam’s prior experience makes him a valuable asset to the team; he has a keen eye for detail and is adept at solving problems.

Trenton is the newest member of our team. He is a first year industrial electrician, who started his career journey as an audio technician. Trenton is passionate about computer sciences and is very goal driven. The mining industry is abundant with various machines and challenges to face, which makes it a great place to learn. Trenton is a highly motivated individual and we are excited to see what he will accomplish.
Daniel Holmes



Daniel is an industrial electricians apprentice through TRU, and a fourth year electrical engineer. He likes the outdoors and mountains, building robots, and cooking. Daniel looks forward to working in the field under the mentorship of Fred. Daniel is currently attending UBC finishing his electrical engineering. we look forward to getting him back in the spring!
